No More Dimming Your Light—Shine Like the Lion You Are
Aww shoot! Some folks got a little too comfortable with how coy you used to be. They mistook your quietness, your patience, your humility for weakness. They thought you were just a cat when you were really the lion the whole time. But guess what? It’s time to shine, baby! Step out of that comfort zone and show them exactly who you were always meant to be.
See, you were placed here for a reason. You’ve always carried something powerful within you, but the world tried to dim your light because it shined too bright for them. That’s not your problem. That’s theirs. People who aren’t sure about WHO they are or WHAT they bring to ANY table will project their insecurities onto you. And if you let them, they’ll have you believing that you’re "too much" or your energy is "too vibrant." Nah, let’s be clear—it’s not you.
It’s God’s anointing pouring into you and THROUGH you, and that light makes folks nervous. It shakes them. It makes them feel overshadowed, like they have to compete with you, when all you ever wanted to do was complement what they do with what you do. But insecurities have a funny way of making people think you’re coming for their spot, that you want their job, that you believe you’re better than them. When in reality, people who truly know their calling, who have joy in their hearts, who have peace in their purpose—NEVER want what someone else has. Because we’re too busy BUILDING what’s ours!
So, for those of you who used to be too coy, who dimmed your light, who downplayed your intelligence, your talents, and your potential just to make others comfortable—don’t you EVER do that again. If you can do anything you put your mind to, then DO IT. If you have a gift that is undeniable, USE IT. If your energy fills the room, OWN IT. Stop making yourself smaller for people who were never meant to contain you in the first place.
The right ones will recognize your light and shine WITH you. The rest? They’ll have to adjust their vision.
