Guard Your Gates: Reclaiming Truth During the “Holiday” Season -By Xave D. Morgan | November 202
As I continue to dive deeper into philosophy, spiritual etymology, and the origin of global traditions, my studies keep leading me back to a core truth:
Much of what we’ve been taught to celebrate was never built with us in mind.
I’m talking about the “holidays”—yes, holi-days—that were sold to us as moments of gratitude, family, and joy... but were rooted in violence, greed, and whitewashed revisionism.
And as I grow in wisdom, I can no longer unsee what I now know.
I am the descendant of the manipulated, the mocked, the massacred, and the enslaved.
And the veil is officially lifted.
Thanksgiving? Or Thanks-Taking?
Since 1970, many Indigenous people in America have rightfully recognized “Thanksgiving” not as a celebration, but as a National Day of Mourning held in Plymouth, Massachusetts—the site of early colonizer arrival and violent land theft.
The sanitized version of Thanksgiving—Pilgrims and Natives “sharing a meal”—was fabricated to soothe collective guilt and bury genocide beneath gravy boats and stuffing. 🤷🏽♀️
And while I no longer observe Thanksgiving in its traditional form, I do use this time to gather my family, educate my children, and teach the truth behind the illusion. I honor the sacrifices of my ancestors and reignite our ancient traditions—ones that pre-date European invasion and colonized calendars.
Guard Your Gates. Reclaim Your Mind.
For 30+ years, I existed under a veil of cultural ignorance—one perpetuated through generations of trauma passed down since the 1800s.
This ignorance wasn’t by accident—it was programmed.
Massacres stimulated by greed.
Colonialism aggravated by insecurity.
Desired inclusivity resulting in destruction.
We’ve tried integration. We’ve tried assimilation.
Every time our people began building economic independence, they came—
to kill, steal, and destroy.
It’s the same spirit. Just more advanced language, tools, and now—artificial intelligence masked as wisdom.
A Word for the Real Ones
Let me be honest:
This year has taught me more than a college course ever could.
I’ve watched my people get attacked for trying to build.
I’ve watched entire cultures be mimicked, monetized, and dismissed.
I’ve seen smear campaigns waged behind smiles, and betrayal come dressed in “allyship.”
And yet—I’m still here.
And you’re still here.
The truth is loud now.
The ancestors are speaking.
The veil is gone.
The science of synchronicity is undeniable.
You’re seeing things that don’t make sense logically but feel spiritually accurate. Pay attention. It’s not paranoia—it’s discernment.
You Can Choose Truth Over Tradition
Every single person has a moment where they realize: I was misled.
And that’s okay. Like I always say, “Even playas mess up sometimes.” 😂
But you’ve got to be courageous enough to admit when you were wrong, and accountable enough to do something about it.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., near the end of his life, admitted that he feared he had led our people into a burning house. Even he realized that not every seat at the table is worth sitting at.
So if you’ve reached that point—if you’re starting to question what you once celebrated blindly—welcome.
You’re not behind. You’re not late.
You’re just ready now.
Final Word: Stand in Truth, Not Just in Season
This holiday season, I’m encouraging you to reclaim your calendar, your voice, and your culture.
-
You don’t have to “celebrate” trauma just because it’s tradition.
-
You don’t have to gather under false pretenses.
-
You don’t have to feed into systems that were never built for your survival.
Instead, gather your loved ones and tell them the truth.
Create new rituals rooted in legacy, not lies.
Reignite ancestral practices—ones that never required a colonized calendar to feel sacred.
And above all:
Guard your gates.
Because what’s coming next is divine.
But only if you’re prepared to see it.
With truth and fire,
